Career Opportunities for the Disabled (COD)

The Arc of Butler County is proud to offer a supportive employment program focusing on pairing employees with employers. The supportive employment program is called Career Opportunities for the Disabled (COD)

The purpose of COD is to assist individuals with various disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment, creating community awareness in relation to the employment of individuals with disabilities, and assisting employers in creating a successful alliance by continued involvement between the employer and employee.

COD services are individualized according to the needs of the consumers and the employer. Examples of services available to the consumer are:

  • Resume/Cover Letter Writing
  • Interviewing Skills
  • Community Based Work Assessments
  • Job Development
  • Job Coaching (training on the job)
  • Mobility Training
  • Coordination of Employment Related Services
  • Support Groups

COD is a business resource and we offer area employers a large diverse workforce. Examples of services available to the employer are:

  • Job Matching Potential Employees to Job Positions
  • Free On The Job Training by Job Coaches
  • Possible Eligibility for Federal Targeted Tax Credits
  • Follow-Up Services (as needed or requested by the employer)
  • Assistance with Employee Evaluations
  • Assistance with Accommodations
